REBUILDING OUR CIVIC POWER

Picture
Across the country, our democracy is struggling. Disenfranchisement, systemic oppression and lack of civic education make active participation in democratic decision-making and civic life a challenge for everyone. At Our City Our Voice our mission is to support people in finding the right tools to repair the rifts in their local democracies. We do so by providing technical assistance, trainings, coaching, facilitation and program management to connect communities and help them create positive change.

Let's reclaim our cities and rebuild our communities by making our voices heard and turning our shared vision into reality.

Our Vision

We believe that communities have vital knowledge necessary to solving the problems that we face and are motivated to take meaningful action to create positive change. We believe that the best decisions are made when those who are most impacted are directly involved in decision making. We believe that systemic inequality has excluded specific communities from involvement in decision making and eroded trust in government and society. We believe that supporting the leadership and development of communities through allocation of resources, training, relationship building, and dedicated access is necessary to solve the most complex environmental, economic, and social problems we face today. We are committed to the work of building leaderful communities through training, technical assistance, and ongoing mutual support via communities of praxis.
